Email Shares 52 We get a lot of questions on our electric wiring articles from folks tackling electrical projects in their own home. One of the most common and intimidating parts of electrical work is dealing with the main breaker panel. This article provides an overview of a breaker panel. Some jurisdictions require you to be an electrician to perform any electrical work, even in your own home. Almost all jurisdictions require you to get a permit to complete any substantial electric work beyond simple tasks like replacing receptacles. Electric Breaker Panel Volts and Amps Before we get started on the panel, note that virtually all homes in the United States are wired with amps volt service. For homes equipped with natural gas, propane, or oil heat, amps volts is usually enough to meet electric demands throughout the year. For homes with an all-electric heat system, amps is the minimum recommended service level. In houses with a heated pool or spa, electric radiant floor heat, etc.
Can you hook up a sub to a 2 channel stereo system?
Halogen Lighting James It would be nice if you showed an alternative diagram for someone adding a light to an existing circuit. Adam Franz71 I am trying to install a digital timer on my outside garage lights. The timer has Black, White, Green and Red wires. There is only One switch for the outside Garage lights and BOTH wires on the 15a v switch are Black which is unlike the diagram on this page. The foyer lights and interior garage lights are also on this same circuit.
A comprehensive matching guide for car subs and amps. Learning how to match a subwoofer and amplifier is easier than you think. You cannot bridge those two channels into one channel; it will end up destroying your amplifier. The majority of the time, when a channel has been bridged, it turns into a four ohm channel. so everything is.

Many sub manufacturers especially the cylindrical models such as SVS’s most popular line recommend corner placement.
Imaging should be not be affected unless your mains are extremely bass-light so the sub’s crossover has to be set very high. True low-bass somewhere around hz and below becomes very difficult to accurately locate the source of it. This means if your sub is only handling the lower frequencies, placement will just affect it’s output level and possible room resonances, not imaging. Of course, two subs one in each front corner is the optimal setup; However not all of us can afford these luxuries, and not all of us have rooms large enough to not be overwhelmed by the output of two subs -dd3mon Amp:

Best Chainsaw for the Money! What is a Miter Saw? These saws are designed to cut into metal pipes and sheets, and feature a circular saw blade that is tipped with extremely hard teeth in order to slice through even the toughest of steels with ease. Chop saws are specialized circular saws, and circular saws have been around us for quite some time.
Jan 09, · hook up each speaker box to a separate channel of each amp – 1 side of each amp connects to 1 speaker box. connect the small power amp to the subs – they seem to be matched properly. the larger power amps probably run at WRMS, so shouldn’t be a problem with main speakers.
In my case, I also have the added burden that two of my main contributors are or were speaker manufacturers, some of whose products you will see as References below. Other associates are distributors of speaker lines. Accordingly, I made the only decision I could: All the choices in this category are mine alone. What I say to those who question my objectivity is; please closely read the rest of the References first to see my consistency and sensitivities, before making judgements on the few choices you may be understandingly skeptical about.
Any final and true judgement concerning these or any specific components requires a personal listening session with them. If this list inspires such an event, it has been a success, no matter what the ultimate result.

In reality, a lot of these variables are mutually exclusive: If you want maximum power output, be prepared to pay more for the drivers and sacrifice some frequency response. Keep these things in mind as you read over the next sections. A Note on Speaker Selection Don’t skimp too much on the speakers: However you can have all of the above qualities without spending a fortune.
A word to the wise:
Jan 19, · if setup 4 channel amp with low pass filter for the sub channel and other 2 channels for speakers with no filter, some amp you can use amp as 3 way if one or two subs, bridging output will give you more power for the sub. be aware that bridging 2x4ohm subs will give you 2 ohms and potentially damage the amp.
It is remarkably compact and portable for a live sound system with this much capability. And thanks to leading Yamaha digital technology, the EMX CF also includes a number of innovations that make it easier than ever to achieve top-class sound in just about any venue. An impressive power output of watts per channel means it can handle fairly large audiences, indoors or out. Versatile input configuration adapts to varied source requirements The EMX CF has a total of 16 input channels-eight for monaural microphone or line input plus four stereo pairs.
The stereo channel pairs can function either as monaural microphone inputs or stereo line inputs. This system gives you extra microphone inputs if your sources are mostly microphones, or if you need to handle more stereo sources, the EMX CF will comfortably handle four pairs in addition to eight mono mic or line inputs.
Advanced channel EQ 3-band EQ is available on all input channels, but extra versatility is provided on the eight mono channels with mid-frequency sweep controls. The mid EQ center frequency can be continuously swept from Hz through 5 kHz so you can precisely pinpoint frequencies in the critical midrange. But it does feature a range of inputs and outputs that allow it to be expanded with external gear or integrated into larger systems.
Insert patch points on the mono input channels, for example, let you add outboard signal processing to individual input channels.
How do you wire 2 amps together ?
One thing I learned pretty early in life is that speakers are not meant to be wired together in a haphazard manner. In fact, whenever you plan to connect more than two speakers to a two-channel amplifier — or more than four speakers to a four-channel amp — there are a few things to consider, not the least of which is the amps ability to handle low-impedance loads. Ignoring the basics is like playing Russian roulette with your amplifier:

I feel this information will be important to the owners of these superb amplifiers. There’s very little editing: I want to call attention to both you and owners of the Canary CA , a moderately inexpensive vis a vis very expensive premium B tubes way to kick up the performance of these amps. Having just brought another pair of them into my showroom, I decided to leave the stock Electro Harmonix B as is. For less money than a pair of KR B’s these amps take 2 pair each keep in mind , the changes were breathtaking.
Transients, soundstage, and articulation were noticeably improved. I thought your readers might be interested to know that, although these amps benefits from premium B tubes, these changes are a great cost effective compromise. Its power rating appears “modest” 22 watts, 90 watts peak , and it does not break any new sonic grounds, but the “good news” is that this amplifier can virtually equal most amplifiers we know of in most areas of music reproduction.
This means that it has much of the pure, natural, immediate and liquid qualities of the finest of the ultra low-power under 10 watt single-ended amplifiers, while still sounding as “gutsy”, dynamic, and controlled as many more powerfully rated amps. Despite the standard “BS” regularly written in audio magazines, exceedingly few other amplifier have ever been able to legitimately make this claim in the past. It is exceptionally well built and it is also ultra-quiet during operation.
Now for the “negatives”: This amplifier uses volts on the plate to get all its power from just one output tube the main reason for its purity , so this isn’t the amplifier to “play around and experiment with” inside. Touching the wrong spot would be the final mistake of that person’s life.
Help wiring 2 amps! 1 for speakers, 1 for sub.
References Introduction There is a great deal of confusion about the use of high voltage aka ‘constant voltage’ speaker lines for commercial applications. Common voltages used are 25V, 50V, 70V and V, and there are favourites that are country dependent. In some cases, this is due to regulatory restrictions on the use of voltages deemed ‘hazardous’ – typically anything over 32V RMS.
The calculations and the problems are no different for any line voltage, and conversion is simple.
Jun 16, · Recently i hooked up a friends amp that was a mono block with 2 inputs for speaker wires (2 + and 2-) he had 2 4 ohm DVC subs.I followed the 12 volt subwoofer wiring diagram that said to hook the 2 subs up together in parallel to get a 1 ohm load.
The OC As Roger said, this is generally not a good idea. It can work but you have to be very careful. You can use a switch, but you’ll have to be very careful to make sure you never switch it when the amps are powered up. Also you must be aware that having a switch in the line between an amp and a speaker is not a good idea. A switch can have resistance and it’s contacts can pit and oxidize over time.
The more current that runs through them, the more likely this is.
